Where Fm shows up

F minor is the relative minor of Ab major: the F minor scale is built from the same notes as the Ab major scale. The chord also works as the ii in Eb and the iii in Db, two roles that keep it busy in pop and jazz progressions alike. The key of F minor has four flats.

Its most famous setting is the Fm–Db–Ab–Eb loop, the minor-led progression behind countless pop hits.
